Soil Annalysis

Soil Microbiological Assessment provides a comprehensive examination of the active microbiological community within soil. These assessments shed light on the composition of the Soil Food Web (SFW), encompassing the analysis of Fungal Biomass, Bacterial Biomass, Beneficial Nematodes, Detrimental Nematodes, Protozoa, and Disease-Causing Organisms. A Soil Food Web report serves as a valuable tool for understanding the ecological progression of the land, the impact of land management practices on this progression, and the suitability of the soil for supporting various crop types.

A robust Soil Food Web (SFW) yields a multitude of benefits:

  • Optimized Nutrient Availability: Facilitates nutrient availability at a rate aligned with plant requirements, thereby increasing yields and reducing input costs, including a decrease in fertilizer usage.

  • Nutrient Retention: Retains nutrients within the soil, mitigating runoff, leaching, and erosion, thus promoting sustainable soil fertility.

  • Disease Suppression: Suppresses diseases by fostering microbial diversity, thereby reducing the reliance on pesticides and promoting natural disease control mechanisms.

  • Enhanced Soil Structure: Improves soil structure by reducing water usage, increasing water retention capacity, deepening rooting depth, alleviating compaction, fostering topsoil development, and sequestering carbon. This results in healthier, more resilient soils capable of sustaining productive crops while mitigating environmental impact.

Inocculation

Using the Soil Analysis, Minds Of Soil produces inoculum to reintroduce the missing micro-organism missing in the SFW biological report to ensure the full benefits of a healthy SFW are established. The inoculum is context dependent depending on the needs, scale and requirements of the farm and focuses on local available resources.
